Detail
The GSL8 is a specialized line array module tailored for large-scale audio delivery. It allows for the assembly of up to twenty-four GSL8 units in vertical stacks, radiating a consistent 80° dispersion in the horizontal direction. Within the GSL8, you'll find two 14" neodymium LF drivers facing forward and an additional pair of 10" side-firing neodymium LF drivers. Its mid-high section features a 10" MF horn and three HF compression drivers, each 1.4" in exit and having 3.4" voice coils, all linked to a custom wave shaping tool.
The innovative SL-Series flying hardware boasts a unique and patented design, accommodating both tension and compression rigging modes. This design ensures flexibility in adjusting splay angles between the cabinets, ranging from 0° to 7°, incremented by 1°. The GSL8 requires dual-channel powering from a suitable d&b amplifier; one channel drives the 14" LF drivers, while the other manages all remaining components with a passive crossover. This layout ensures seamless crossover transitions and consistent, precise horizontal sound distribution. With the strategic placement of the forward and side-firing LF drivers, the module offers sound control from 45 Hz up to frequencies surpassing 18 kHz.
Structurally, the GSL8 boasts a robust marine plywood construction, topped with a resilient, weather-resistant PCP (Polyurea Cabinet Protection) coating. Both its front and side sections are shielded by sturdy metal grilles, complemented by a sound-permeable, water-resistant fabric lining. Ease of handling is ensured with recessed grips on each side, complemented by additional handles at the back.
