The KSL8 is a line array module, delivering a consistent 80° horizontal dispersion throughout its operational range. It features two forward-facing 10" neodymium LF drivers and two side-mounted 8" neodymium LF drivers. The coaxial mid-high section boasts an MF horn equipped with an 8" driver, coupled with dual 1.4" exit, 3" voice coil HF compression drivers that align with a specialized wave shaping device. The SL-Series' unique flying hardware utilizes a patented workflow, integrating both tension and compression rigging modes. This allows adjustable splay angles between cabinets ranging from 0° to 10°, in 1° steps.
These loudspeakers are powered by two channels of a suitable d&b amplifier: one for the 10" LF drivers and another for the rest of the components, which utilize a passive crossover system. This configuration ensures a smooth transition with distinct overlaps between frequency bands, ensuring consistent and precise horizontal sound dispersion. The design of the front and side-firing LF drivers guarantees uninterrupted directivity control, ranging from the lowest frequencies up to over 18 kHz.
Adding to its versatility, the KSL8 offers a mode to link two cabinets either in a linear or arc configuration, ideal for setups where smaller arrays are in play and ArrayProcessing isn't needed. Crafted from marine-grade plywood, these cabinets are enhanced with a robust, weather-resistant PCP (Polyurea Cabinet Protection) coating. Rigid metal grills shield the front and sides, accompanied by sound-permeable and water-resistant fabric. For easy handling, each side features a recessed grip, supplemented by extra handles at the back.
